Lisbon's viewpoints at sunset
Seven miradouros, seven views of the city and the river, and the best time to reach each one.
Lisbon is built on seven hills, and each one has its miradouro, a terrace with a view, often a kiosk and always a crowd at sunset. Our pick, from east to west:
- Senhora do Monte, the highest, for the whole city at once.
- Graça, under the pines, with the castle in front of you.
- Santa Luzia, framed by tiles and bougainvillea.
- Portas do Sol, over the roofs of Alfama.
- São Pedro de Alcântara, for the castle across the valley.
- Santa Catarina, for the bridge and the river.
